DIY: T-Shirt Scarf

Today was a boring lazy Saturday, the best day to get into some DIY projects.
I have a HUGE scarf obsession, especially lightweight ones for the spring/ summer time.
So I decided to look around on the internet for some ideas
and I decided to try and make a super stylish yet easy to make scarf...no sewing needed!

Step 1: Gather materials
All you need is a t-shirt, old or new, and a pair of scissors.
Since I treasure my plain t-shirts, and like to buy nicer ones, I decided to run to Forever 21 and pick up a simple and inexpensive one- only $4.80!

Step 2: Cut the bottom of the shirt off. Cut a straight line right under the armpit of the sleeve.

Step 3: Cut parallel lines into the bottom of the shirt.
I cut mine a little less that half way up the shirt. The higher you cut, the longer the fringe.

Step 4: Lightly pull each slice to give the fringe have a curled look.

And now your finished! Enjoy!

Tiny Little NYC Haul

On my day trip to NYC last Saturday, I was pretty overwhelmed with
all of the fun stores. Therefore, I only purchased a sweater,
a scarf, a pair of sweats (weird yes I know) and two gorgeous lipsticks!
I have never purchased lipstick from either Bobbi Brown or Smashbox,
but after I purchased these two I am hooked!
I cannot wait to expand my collection from both companies now!
Top: Bobbi Brown creamy lip color in 32 Coral Pink
Bottom: Smashbox Be Legendary lipstick in Posy Pink

BB Cream Battle!

So I have been wanting to test the waters of the BB Cream craze that has taken over the beauty world, however, I don't have the patience or the courage to take on buying a product from Japan that I'm unable to test in person. Recently, more BB Creams are becoming available in the US to stores like Ulta and Sephora. This has made me very excited because now I am able to try them out. I'm going to be testing out the BB Creams by Dior, Garneia, Stilla, and Smashbox. I will be doing reviews along with tutorials of each product that I try so that you all can get a better feel for the way each one works! I'm so excited to be doing this because from what I've tried so far I'm in love with the way the look and wear! Make sure to check back on my youtube channel MermaidsCloset for these reviews!

Yoga-Ta-Get This Nail Look!

Granted, this is week old polish, it's still an amazing combination!
To Get The Look:
1. Paint 1 coat of OPI YOGA-TA-GET THIS BLUE!.
2. Apply a top coat - I used my favorite Seche Vite.
3. Apply a light coat of Essie SET IN STONES just to the tip of each nail.
4. Apply another coat of Seche Vite.
TaDaaa!
Thats all there is to this combination and yet it still looks so fun and glitzy...
like a spring time night sky :)
